Sean's Bio

My name is Sean Timothy Golden, and here is a little information about me. I was born in Camden, N.J. on the 13th of June 1983, into a family of six. My parents Ronald and Patricia Golden referred to me as a pleasant surprise because they did not plan on having any more children. My parents said I practically came out flipping. Every time gymnastics was on television they knew I was somewhere close by doing some kind of flip. In fear for my life and more importantly their furniture my parents enrolled me into gymnastics at the age of 4.

Fast tracking to my teen years, I moved to a new gym and began training under my longtime coach Macey Watson. He helped me further develop my talent and taught me that despite my struggles, and at times, feelings of defeat, I could excel in the sport if I worked hard enough and persevered. Under Macey I became one of the top juniors in the country.

Inevitably with time comes change so, in the spring of 2004 I found myself in Houston, TX. I began training under 2004 Olympic head coach Kevin Mazeika. Moving to Houston was a career boost for me. With in two years I became National Champion on Two events, Made Two world championship teams, and won my first world cup medal on the vaulting table, along with other national and international accomplishment.

Because of gymnastics I have made it through a lot of tribulations and experienced many triumphs. Presently I am continuing to work hard, accomplish my goals and enjoy what I was born to do, GYMNASTICS.
